Krishna Leelas: Breaking Carts, Calming Storms, Seeing Universes

The stories from the Shrimad Bhagavatam are not just mythology; they are mirrors of our inner life.

In one of his Leelas, baby Krishna breaks a cart, defeats the demon Trunavarta, and reveals the entire universe within his mouth, each moment carrying timeless wisdom for us today.

The Broken Cart

The cart reminds us of the weight we carry, old karmas, limiting beliefs, pride, and attachments. With the gentle kick of his tiny feet, Krishna shows that even the heaviest baggage can collapse when we allow divine grace to act.

The Whirlwind of Trunavarta

The whirlwind, sweeping everything into dust, mirrors the chaos of ego and distractions that blind us. Yet when Krishna became heavier than the universe, he showed that true strength lies in being anchored, cultivating an inner weight of truth, humility, and awareness that no storm can uproot.

The Universe Within

When Yashoda looked into his mouth and saw the cosmos, it was a reminder that the infinite hides within the finite, that every person, every moment, contains a universe waiting to be seen.

A Story Within the Story

A young boy once complained to his teacher:
“The world is too noisy. I cannot focus. I feel like I am always being carried away.”

The teacher gave him a small stone and said:
“Each time the storm of distractions pulls you, touch this stone and remind yourself: I am heavier than this storm.”

Over time, the boy realised it was not the stone, but his growing awareness that gave him weight. Even in chaos, he stood anchored and free.

In the same way, Krishna became “heavier than the universe” in the arms of Trunavarta — teaching us that true grounding is not found outside but in the depth we cultivate within.

Living the Lesson: Steps Toward Our Best Selves

  • Kick away limiting beliefs, self-doubt, habits, or dependencies that weigh you down.

  • Anchor against life’s storms through meditation, reflection, and integrity.

  • See the universe in others by practising empathy, listening deeply, and looking beyond labels.

  • Trust in higher protection, innocence and sincerity always call forth unseen strength.

  • Infuse awareness into daily rituals, transform meals, work, or conversations into sacred practice.

In Essence

Storms will come, props will collapse, and illusions will blind us. Yet if we live with awareness, humility, and grounding, we too can withstand the whirlwind, rise above distractions, and glimpse infinity in every soul.
That is how we begin to step into the best version of ourselves.
